Does this sound right?I was at an electronic store and told them that it gives 8.4 volts when on and 12 when off with no ground.They said that can't be right so they went out with me and sure enough.It is red so i was gonna go blue but not sure how to go about it.Its a crimestopper

Is that a steady 8.4 Volts or Pulse?
Did you check Voltage on both legs ( Ground & Positive ) ON & OFF??
Sounds like 12 Volt LED to me...
Want I should send you a BLUE one to try????

Just tested the positive and thats steady 8.4 when in valet mode (ON).I just bought one thats on the way but not sure if a should use a resistor.Its a blue alarm LED, but will it burn out?

Its 8.4 at the tip of LED and at the base where it plugs in.No inline resistor
