Vehicle: acura integra '90 Automatic
Alarm: Compustar 2W900FM-AS (alarm with remote start)

Problem #1

This is the 3rd acura integra '90 i've worked on with this system and for some reason the alarm and remote starter isn't working.... I've tested all wires on the main harness for the right connections and they seem to all checkout.

After I made all my connection I tried to program the pager remote. i turned the key 5 times and pressed the lock/unlock button on the pager and there's no chirp from the siren, nor was there any conformation from the pager. The brain clicks and the lights turn on and off as normal.

Could it be the antenna?
---------------------------------------------------------

Problem #2

When I press the little black button on the side of the brain, it doesn't chirp the siren for conformation of the tach signal. I double checked the connection to the sire and they are right.

Would could be wrong here? could it be the brain???

I'm not sure if these 2 problems are isolated problems? or could it be just the brain?? Please help me..

Thanks

First off when you program the remotes, you turn the ignition on and off 5 times staying in the on position.   You will hear the brain click if you do this right. As soon as you hear this click on the brain press the arm button on each remote. When the arm button is pressed, you will hear the brain click each time you press each of the arm buttons on the remotes. You must hear this click or the remotes are not programming! Turn the ignition off and press the arm button on one of the remotes. This should do it.
second problem is you probably don't have the right tach wire. this is why the siren is not chirping.

on the integra just go to a fuel injector wire for the tach signal, make sure you use the wire that isn't the common color

Yes this is exactly what i did to program the remotes.. I hear the clicks coming from the brain and then proceeded to press the arm button....i've tried again but no luck.

could it be the antenna?

The reason why i suspect that it's the antenna is because the antenna's metal wired end was twisted the wrong way, so in order for me to be able to stick it on the windshield, I twisted it around and stuck it to the windshield..
As i did this i heard a cracking sound... I'm going to try replacing the antenna and the antenna wire.

I'm open to any other suggestions...

Thanks for the reply, I will try this...

My question is the black button on the brain, even though if I don't have the right tach wire, shouldn't the siren chirp 3 times telling me that it's the wrong wire? It doesn't even chrip at all... is this normal? In the past when i have the wrong tach wire, pressing the black button on the brain would chirp the siren 3 times....correct me if i'm wrong..

try this remove the battery from the remote, key on/off 5 times, relay will click, now put battery in, did the realy click again if it did wait a few seconds the realy will click 2 more times and then wait a few seconds again and then you should see confirmation from the led

if this doesn't work than try it again

to test for tach signal on that remote starter you have to start the vehicle, make sure you let the vehicle's idle settle to normal, press the black button, it should chirp once if tach was programmed, and then 3 times if tach wasn't programmed

Ok i will try doing it this way, maybe it'll do the trick... I hope...I know I removed the piece of paper in the remote and seems to be doing the same thing...

What does it mean when i press the black button and there's no chirp at all? Because this is whats happening right now...it's strange to me maybe the button is defective..?
