hey guys

i just have a quick question a buddy of mine tried to install a starter on his 93 Dodge Ram 50 and when it didnt work he came to me i checked all his wires and programing however it wont program the tach so i checked that wire and it is hooked to the WHITE/ black wire at the coil but when i checked it that wire was a very jumpy +8-14 volts i looked at some other wire diagrams some siad it should be a grey wire so im a lill outs ideas if anyone has any let me know... i can take a pic of the coil if that would help anyone

Diagram I looked at says grey also. Did you try that wire?

yup but it jumps from 12 to 18 volts a lot not steady at all!!! so if it is the tach his truck is very screwed but im thinking it's not
