Has anyone done a remote start in a 2003 Saab 9-5? I have done many American & Japanese cars & have not attempted anything else. I have not looked @ the car yet. Is it very different? Is there anything difficult to do on it?

The 2003 models do not have a starter wire that should used when remote starting. You have to hookl up your constant power which is RED your ign. which is RED / BLUE and your acc. which is BlUE. you also need a bypass module for this car. If using a DEI R/S it is part nu. 555U the transponder needs to be takin out of the factory key fab and placed inside. you can get to the bottom of the ign cylinder if you take one of the sides of the center console apart. you can also get to all of your ign harness' . When this car starts it see the Acc. drop power and send the right information to the car in order for it to start. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE should you try to use the starter wire. This is not a hard car to do as far as everything else is concerned. YOu still do need to use the factory key fab for LOCK/UNLOCK and factory alarm. there is no easy way around this.

Thanks for the info. I'm confused about the starter wire. Every wiring diagram I've got lists the starter as Yellow. I'd appreciate any other ideas & input.
