2005 Chevrolet Classic

I am looking for the wiring information for this car. I looked under 2005 Malibu, but I don't think that it is the same. I'm sure a good majority of it is the same, but the Malibu mentions an alarm. The classic does not seem to have an alarm. My guess would be that at least the power lock wires are different.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

The Classic is just a previous-generation (1997-2003) Malibu.

Look up the information on a 2003 Malibu and you should be all set.

Also, do a search here, and you will find a few tricks for that car.

So then it would still have passlock II instead of passkey and would still need the starter wire hooked up?

Yes to both questions.

The new Malibu has unique ignition wiring---as you have probably read, there is no starter wire, and also, there is another wire that needs to see a certain resistance while the car is cranking.

But, other than the PASSLock II system, your Classic is pretty much just a regular car.

If you have done a remote starter before, the only thing that will surprise you is that to access the ignition wires, you'll remove the radio to get to them.

You will see a bundle of thick, traditional ignition wires there, as well as the three thin PASSLock wires taped up separately.

Sounds good, I'll use the PASSLock II security bypass and hookup the starter wire.

Is there a door lock interface that I can buy, or is it eaiser to use relays and a resistor?
