alarm not working

my battery ran out the other day, when i charged my battery up my car started but not my alarm.

does anyone know what this is?

how i can resolve it?

and someone told me to take the +'ve of my battery and turn the ignition on then recconect the battery, will this work?

What doesn't work? The remotes? or the whole alarm?

You may have locked the unit up or put it into valet. If the LED is on solid, it's in valet mode. Otherwise you may need to unplug the main alarm brain for a minute or so and then plug it back in to reset it.

the LED is not on, so i might need to take the main lead of, is this the +'ve of the battery?

the whole alarm is not working
