Can someone tell me a better location for the tach wire on a 1997 chevrolet diesel 6.5l 1 ton. I am trying to install a remote start and the only info I have is the white wire behind the instrument cluster which is impossible to get to. Thanks in advance to anyone who replys.

There should be a white at the ECM in behind the glovebox.

There may also be a white wire you can use for tach coming off the alternator.
