I have a 94 Toyota T100 and am installing a remote starter and the wire diagram I have says the tach wire is Black at the ignitor.  How do I identify the ignitor?  Is it the same as the distributor, or where could zi look for it so I dont have to test every black wire in the engine.

Thanks a lot

try a different spot here

TACHOMETER|----gray/red or black            , check conn *1

*1 The check connector is located on the front passenger inner fender well next to the underhood fuse box.

This 93/94 toyota suck for tachs, took me 45mins to find one on a 93 lexus sc400, just about when i was going to give up i found a wire on the front drivers side of the engine, its a coil of sorts and has a spark plug wire going off it, two wires run to it and one is a tach

I found it at the check connector like egtalon93 suggested, it tested at about 8 volts AC, but it worked like a charm, It actually read around 5v AC on my cheap $25 DMM, and 8 on my expensive one, but it was good enough to work, so it was good enough for me. Thanks
