I did one (2005)last summer,I had problems with the check engine light,I ended up re-doing my relays according to a diagram I found on the internet and it worked fine.If I can find the diagram I will post it for you.

I just did a r/s on a 300c last night. Wierd thing is, I hooked the r/s up to the factory remote, which went fine. Now all of a sudden the switch on the drivers door is not working for power locks, all 3 other doors are. The lock itself goes up and down, but the switch stopped working. Any ideas?

I just did a rs in a 2006 chrysler 300c. I hooked the rs up to the factory remote for 3 pulses. Now driving down the road, the car just randomly locks and unlocks the doors.

Did you use relays to activate the door lock wire. If not your circuits may be giving the car false signals at times. Check for loose connections too.

Nope, I was told just the hook the WHITE/ red activation wire to the positive door lock wire, no relay

Unless your r/s has built in relays (Most don't) you must use a relay to provide a solid ground through a resistor to activate the locks. Transistorized outputs which most r/s use, add resistence into the circuit. Try disconnecting the lock/unlock wires from your r/s and drive the car. If the problem goes away you have found your problem. Chrysler vehicles are very picky and weird problems arise when relays aren't used. I have seen this too many times and adding relays always works.

Awesome, thanks. Does anyone know how to hook up the relay? Which wire goes where? thanks

Terminal #86 of each relay to a fused source of 12 volt battery power. Terminal #30 of each relay to a good ground. Terminal #85 of the lock relay to the lock output from the remote starter. Terminal #87 of the lock relay through a 340 ohm resistor and then to the PURPLE / green door lock/unlock wire in the car. Terminal # 85 of the unlock relay to the unlock output of the remote starter. Terminal #87 of the unlock relay through a 100 ohm resistor and then to the PURPLE / green door lock wire.

bhurlebaus,
I found it, but don't you have to be a dealer to order one?

He's not talking about doing lock and unlock with an aftermarket remote.  He's talking about triggering the aftermarket RS with the FACTORY remote and you can set the start to activate a start sequence when it sees three consecutive lock pulses.  At least that's what I gathered from his original post.  I've did this several times in the past but don't do it anymore b/c of all the modules available.  But I just usually tapped into the actual lock motor wire and triggered a relay to convert to negative pulses into the RS brain and it always worked flawlessly.  Unless it was a car that switched ground for the lock and unlock and then you can just tap into the lock and go directly into your RS brain.  But with the Chrysler product having single wire doorlock w/ resistors the actual lock motor wire w/ relay would be the only way.  Now it's hard to tell what wire he tapped into and what RS he's using but with a little more info we could probably solve his problem.

ds, thanks for the response. The RS is a Valet 561T. I tapped into the lt green lock motor wire in the kick panel. I tested the wire, and whenever the locks was triggered it sent a + pulse. I used the WHITE/ red (+)activation input from the rs to tap into the lock motor wire.

I just finished the RS on a 2006 300c, Now the key will not work in the ignition. It's like the got reprogrammed or something. I put in a 556CW, so I had to use both keys to program the bypass. Now I turn either key to run, and accessories come on for about 10 seconds, then everything shuts off, while the accessories are on, the Security light blinks. Any ideas?

I am still stumped on this. I went out this morning, still won't start, just accessories power up for 10 seconds, then it dies, you have to hit unlock on the remote, then it will go back into accessory turning on, but won't start.

I don't think there is, but has anyone found a keysense wire on a 2006 Chrysler 300C

hi,

there is no key sense wire, however there is a resistance that appears across the PURPLE / brown and PURPLE / orange? when a key is inserted into the cylinder.  it is between 7.5K and 8K ohms. hope this helps

Not sure, Im just trying to get it out of security lock. I can turn the key, and it powers the accessories, but won't crank, accessories stay on for 10 seconds, then die.

Is it possible that I erased both key fobs? If so, would i have to get the car towed to the dealership to have them reporgrammed? I put the key in, try to start the car, and it won't crank, the accessories power on, for 10 seconds then die, while the security light blinks. This all happened after putting in a remote start, 561r, and a 556cw bypass, into a 300c

Good luck going to the Dealer. The 556C does not work for the newer Chrylsers (that I know of, Ram & Caravans). Some people say the do, I have done a 05 Ram,05 Caravan and a 06 Caravan w/ no luck.

I had the exact same problem w/ a 06 Caravan. I ended up screwing up the transponder data in the computer and required two days at the dealer to get fixed, NOT covered under warranty since the issue was related to user intervention, however the dealer only charged for the time of encoding the keys. I was so embarressed I did not want to fight it, I paid the $190.00 and learned a hard lesson.

The 556U worked fine. The last year I have succesfully used a 556c was in 04 Chryslers.

The delear told me that since I was tring to get the unit (556c) to work after so many attempts the transponder system simply corrupted and the vehicle would not recognize the keys. It seemed as if I wiped the encoding off them.

I know that the dealers should not charge, but once they see the R/S installed they clam up, apparently they have huge issues w/ this and are tired of dealing w/ it.

Good luck and I would highly suggest getting another key and use the 556u (556uw, same thing).
