After studying many posts and wire diagrams, I cannot seem to locate a clutch bypass wire for a 2006 Saturn Ion Red Line, or any other year Saturn Ion. What is the reasoning behind this??

Some professional shops won't do manual-transmission remote start at all, and even for those of us who do, we don't get a whole lot of people asking for them. So I guess it just doesn't get thought about too often.

Anyway, the underdash of an Ion is practically a wide-open cave under there.

Just look at the clutch pedal, find the switches, and test........ how hard can it be? They're only gonna have two wires each.... so that's only four wires to test.

One switch is to disengage the cruise control (if you have it); that switch will trip as soon as you push the clutch in just a little bit.

The other switch, to allow the car to start, it won't trip until the clutch is nearly to the floor......... one of the wires will always stay the same, and the other will change status as you push the clutch down.

Every other diagram I pull for a car/truck that could have a manual transmission always has the type of clutch switch on the diagram but the Ion is the first one that I encountered that does not list anything for it.

Yes, I know what I am doing and I know how to determine the type of switch once I have the car, but I just like to be prepared and there has to be some reason why diagrams don't list the clutch switch.
