I recently installed a DEI 562T and after tucking back all the wires in a hurry and putting the panels back where they belong (it was starting to snow) I noticed a problem with the installation.

When the car is remote started you step on the brake and nothing happens.  The lights still flash etc.  Prior to tucking all the wires back it worked find.  I solder all my connections so I assume that the harness loosened from the "brainbox" and i just need to plug it back in.  The weather is terrible so I cant troubleshoot now.  Should I be worried?  Is there anything else other than the brake wire not sending the signal to the DEI562T that I should be troubleshooting for?

Thanks

Aside from the brake wire, there is nothing else you should be looking at. What vehicle is this for ? Usually most vehicles have the brake wire very easily accessible to test.

Do the car's brake lights work? Does stepping on the brake still allow you to move the gearshift out of Park?

It is possible that the brake switch is unplugged, un-mounted from its original spot, or a fuse has blown.

Thank you for your response Velocity.  The brake wire is very easy to troubleshoot.  Since the install the temp dropped 28 degrees and its snowing every day.  Since it could only be the brake wire Ill bite the bullet and take care of it.
