Ok, here's the problem.  I have a 1997 Tahoe and I installed a Viper 791vx today.  The alarm portion works fine, doors unlock and lock as they should, but when you go to remote start it, the truck will crank, but never start.  It cycles like this until I press tha beake pedal or cancel the remote start.  I have been racking my brain trying to figure this out.  I have hooked up the ignition wires properly, and all my dash stuff works, it just wont start.  Anybody got  any ideas?  Oh, one more thing, my remote doesn't receive the signal from the alarm module, when I press the lockk button on the remote, the truck locks and the alrm beeps, but the remote beeps like it didn't receive an answer from the alarm.  It does this for all functions of the alarm.  Thanks for any help................

did you learn tach???     this will happen if you dont learn tach to the unit BEFORE you try it.....

for the communication probelm try to unplug the antenna for 5 minutes and plug it back in.....

make sure you have all functions and features connected before you start testing or trying things......

What type of bypass did you install for the Passlock2 system? It sounds like it's not working...

1997 did not have passlock II. Started in 1998.  Did you tach learn? You got all the outputs properly including the 2nd ignition?

Ok, now I finally got the remote start to fuction properly, and everything works fine, EXCEPT my remote still does not receive any thing from the vehicle so I always get the beeps when I press any button on the transmitter. (Even though the alarm arms/disarms and starts)  I tried disconnecting the antenna like Kgerry suggested, but still doesn't work.  Any ideas?  Thanks for the help guys...........

That happened to me after my battery died in my 03 tahoe. one of my installer buddies told me to unplug the antenna, start the car, then plug the antenna back in while the car was running.  no probs after that.  make sure your antenna is plugged in all the way at the brain
