Hi, I have a Polarstart car starter that was installed in 2000 in a 1993 Buick Century, the installer told me at the time the antennae was defective so I had it replaced(warranty) but the installer never got around to finishing the job. Yesterday I installed the replacement antennae and tried to program the transmitter according to the manual. I 1rst tried to program a new transmitter

1. Hold down hood pin switch(6 sec)  Release  When sig lights go on

2. Push release PSW again  Sig L go on for 20 secs (They didn't , but in about  10 secs flashed intermittently)

3. Turn key on/off, on/off  ( tried this but did nothing)

Tried to reset module to defaulfts but nothing worked. Didn't try to set Tach read

What should be my next step?

Thanks

Well just replacing the antenna should not require a remote learning and you do not have to hold the PSW 6 sec    just push it down and up and down and up the light should be on for 20 sec  during that time turn the ign switch on off and on off  after that press lock button once and press it again the parklight should flash 5 times quickly   .

The transmitter programming method varies depending on what model the Polarstart unit is. Older units needed the hood open (hood pin grounded), turn the ignition on, then turn on the valet switch, then push lock button on remote.
