Hello everyone.

I'm having a remote start issue with a 2005 Honda CRV EX. It came to me with a Automate AM1 in place of the keyless entry. No big deal I figure. I am wiring in a Valet 562T and the appropriate DEI 556HW transponder bypass.

I can't get the car to start with the remote starter (I'm not worried about programming the customer's factory key to start the car via the AM1 -200mv output, so that's not an issue.) The car starts fine under key power, but won't kick over with the remote start. I tried going tachless / with tach, same thing. My 556HW is set up in mode 1, and the wires are tapped as follows:
12V+ (red)
Grd (blk)
blue/white to 562T blue/white
transponder reference - BROWN / Yellow (to Green of 556HW)
transponder data - White (to Yellow AND Yellow/Blk 556HW)
transponder ign - Blk / YELLOW (cut pink/blk to connector, pink to ECM)

I programmed the 556HW over and over, so that the LED blinks once for mode 1. (When the 562T is trying to start, I don't see the green "security key" icon, hopefully meaning that the 556HW is set correctly.)

Note: I tapped the tach wire at the fuse box vs. under the hood. I did get a good AC reading there... but again, same thing with or without tach.

I've gone over the wires 10 times, and I need a break and a second opinion. Your thoughts and insight are appreciated. Thanks!

NOTE!!! READ above--- the blue/white on the 556HW is hooked up to the BLUE (not blue/white) of the 562T.

Hello again... something else going on here. I'm wondering if it has to do with the AM1... with the key in ignition and car running, the remote start WILL try to start the car, grinding the starter. So, the 562T is not seeing ignition? But, I checked pink and pink/white, and they were getting 12V in key run.

Am I missing something between the AM1 and the 562T? I'm tired and I gotta get some fresh air...

Try remote starting with the 556HW unplugged and with the key in the ignition. As far as the IGNITION wire you should have :

12 VOLTS      white        +      ignition harness      STARTER      BLACK/ white      +      ignition harness      IGNITION 1      BLACK / YELLOW      +      ignition harness      ACCESSORY 1      BLACK/ red      +      ignition harness      ACCESSORY 2      WHITE/ red      +      ignition harness

Thanks Jeff. I have my DEI and Audiovox wiring cheat sheets. Now, I was a bit skeptical since the two don't agree... the Audiovox says that the WHITE/ red is IGN2, while the DEI says WHITE/ red is ACC2. If it is ACC2 as per DEI (who I trust more), then we're saying to skip the pink/white from the 562T and run a relay off of the orange wire? I didn't think that was necessary... Currently I have the pink/white (ign2) hooked up to WHITE/ red and the pink up to the BLACK/ red (ign1).

I can't see what else could be going on... I'll give it another look tomorrow. Thanks - any other thoughts, I'd be happy to hear them.

What you want to do is test the wires to see if they are an ACC or IGN. If it's an IGN, the wire will keep 12 volts even in the crank position while and ACC will drop voltage when cranking. 2nd ACC wires are not necessary for remote start and but the 2nd IGN is.

As far as isolating your problem, do the key in the ignition test to see if it's infact the wiring or the Immobilizer.
