hi chaps

i have dehandled my car and put solonoids in the doors the big electro magnet type. and have been trying to wire up a rely to the acc out put to realease the door and cannot do it

all i manage to do is get the relay to click. have just been reading up on relays.

will this work

terminal  86 = 12 v+

             85 = acc output on alarm

             30 = to the solonoid

             87 = 12v +

will this work thanks ben :)

Are you saying that this is how you have it wired or are you trying to verify that this is correct? If the solenoid that you are wiring requires just a positive and negative to activate, then yes you have it correct. When the relay is active terminals 30 and 87 are connected, when the relay is not active terminals 30 and 87a are connected.

hi havent wired it like this yet have been racking my brains and this is what i came up with haven really used relays much before

try switching the 2 leads on the solonoid, the one you have on the relay going to the solonoid and the one you have earthed to the vehicle, switch these over as you may have these connected wrong.

I do not recall ever seeing a + second channel output on any system so yes it is a negative output. Make sure you fuse your supply to the relays as close to the source as you can.

had the reley wired the wrong way    doh
