Am having a difficult time trying to find an appropriate vehicle "tachometer wire" source on a '99 Ford 5.4L V8 w/ multi-coil system. Attempting to install Viper 550ESP Remote Start.

Can anyone help me with this?

Tach  Signal:

 

 

TAN / YELLOW

AT IGNITION COIL *

Notes:

 * TAN / YELLOW At Pin #5 At Ignition Control Module (ICM) Or WHITE/ PINK At Pin #3 At ICM Can Also Be Used For Tach Signal. Ignition Control Module Located On Driver Side Of Engine Compartment Behind Battery. ** See Note #211 - Ford Ignition Switch Connection Diagram.

I agree with JWorm... alot easier to find the injector wire than that WHITE/ PINK wire !!

JWorm-Jeff,

What/which injector wire. The PCM WH/PK coil wires don't sound so good but how about the "CTO Test" wire refferred to in another post?

There will be two wires at each injector, each injector will have one wire that is the same on the rest of the injectors, grab the wire that is not common to the rest.
