How do I make the unit do a double unlock pulse? I have the 2 relays hooked up with the resistors.

The vehicle is a 2004 srt10 and the customer brought me this Directed alarm. I usually only install AstroFlex. So I have the experience I am just unfamiliar with the unit. I have the small blue wire saved out. and have tried hooking that up to the relays seperately and it dosen't work. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE?? THANK YOU!!!

Page 45, Menu 2, feature 8.

Are you asking for a double pulse so that you can just use the factory alarm/disarm wire to lock/unlock? Or are you trying to do driver's door priority unlocking?

Apparently the first pulse will disarm and the second will unlock. and I have confirmed this by testing. I 'm asking HOW I DO IT? I had a hard enough time with this thing learning the remote for it. I just get over excited when I have to open a door, turn the ignition on, hit the valet switch, hold the valet switch... I am used to flicking on an onboard dipswitch and hitting the brake and then being done with remote programming...

Anyone have a step by step or am I just lazy??... I just want to make sure this thing works flawless when the customer picks it up.

do I need the bit writer? or a seperate diagram? Or is the double pulse in the programming? The truck will unlock the door if I press the button twice. But I wouldn't want it that way so i'm trying to program it for double unlock pulse...

THANK YOU!!

First, I must apologize, it is option 7 not 8 of menu 2, 8 is double pulse lock.

The manual lists exactly how to turn on the double pulse unlock output, this feature is programmable without the need for a bitwriter.

With door open, turn the ignition on, then off. Press and hold the valet button until you hear two chirps. Release the valet button, press and release it seven times, after the seventh push, press it down once more and hold it, the siren will chirp seven times to confirm you are on the correct option. Press the unlock button on the remote, it will confirm by chirping twice. To exit the menu either close the door, turn on the vehicle ignition, or wait 15 seconds.

Hope this helps.

I did 8 and it WORKED!!! I tried 7 but option 7 is something about dome over ride chirp? or something?

Wow I guess if I would have sat down and concentrated (I had friends over that were asking me questions as I was trying to read) when reading the directions I could have figured it out but I REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE YOU HELPING ME!!!!!!!!!!! I guess the viper alarms aren't that scary to install afterall just takes maybe a few installs to get used to 'em? You helped me get it done and this guy is gonna be pumped (hopefully!!!)

THANK YOU  TWELVOLTZ!!!!!!! and www.the12volt.com!!!!

Just to clarify....

You did indeed press the button 8 times, however it is menu option 7 for double pulse unlock, 7 pushes, then an 8th push and hold. Option 6 is ignition controlled domelight on/off.

Congrats on getting everything going!

Disarm the alarm.  Open the door.  Put the key in the igniton and turn it on.  Then push the valet button once.  Then push it again and hold it.  The siren will chirp once.   While still holding the valet button push the lock button on transmitter 1.  The siren will chirp again.  Then push the lock button on transmitter 2.  The siren will chirp.  Turn the igniton off and test the remotes.  all done.

I put the batteries in the second remote and pressed unlock and the thing worked!! I got all worried for nothing! I guess these things learn themselves? Now that i'm starting to get used to the alarm its not all that bad... I'd like to install one with someone who has alot more experience with dei alarms than I do and get to learn what these things can really do.

The shock sensor sensitivity seems pretty high like I really have to make a strong bump into the truck to make it go off. Is there a way to relearn the sensitivity to something a bit less? I know if I arm it and hold it in my hand. The sensor will pick it up just when I move it a bit. Is this a bad thing to want it a bit more sensitive? I mean as it stands now a window breaking or a car backing it into it would set it off. but thats about it.

I don't really want a bunch of false alarms in the middle of the night. but I thought it might be better to lighten up the sensitivity a bit? Any ideas?

Turn the dial on the side of the shock sensor down a little bit.
