Just wondering,
anyone ever build their own or see a pre packaged alarm system that will take pics or record on video who's been trying to break into the car???

Someone is making one of those now....Asianwolf I think it is? They're on eBay. Quite a bit of cost increase over a regular alarm.

scytek also makes one called the vision 800. it tkaes still pics not video though. I just had a customer ask me about it yesterday.

hmmm, if there's none yet, I guess I could build one, I already have a craputer in the car.
Only problems is fiduring how to keep every powered up with the car sits for a week at a time (or at least 5 days)
was thinking about using a solar panel...

Solar panel on the dash is how the VW Beetles are doing it now. Plugs into the cigarrette lighter.
