Can someone tell me what they think about this Remote Starter/ Alarm. https://cgi.ebay.com/dll?ViewItem&item=190030497623

I need to purchase a remote start with lcd so I know it's running without looking at the car but they all seem to come with an alarm anyway! What do ya think of this one?

Forgot to mention it's a 2006 civic and I am also going to purchase the XK05-PKH4 from bypasskits.com

Looks like cheap junk. Better buy a couple if you do order it. When the remote dies in a year or two it will be nearly impossible to find a replacement.

I own a 2006 civic 4 door and I'm going to install a crimestopper alarm/starter combo. Wondering where the gromet through the firewall is to pass the wire for the siren and tach wire? Also, if anyone knows....Do I have to hook up all four wires for the triggers or is there a common wire for the dome light? Thanks for your help in advance!

You can use the dome light supervision wire for door trigger. It will work fine....

Thanks guys! I'm assuming the dome light is the dome supervision in the wiring grid? If so does it still work even though the dome light goes out after like 30 sec after the door is closed?

After you leave your car and your domelight has that delay, then you arm the car then your alarm will chirp to indicate that it is open.
To get around this, turn BYPASS NOTIFICATION OFF

On newer Hondas and Acuras,if i cant use a factory gorment, i usually run the wires going to the hood through the boot in the driver door then trhough the fender.

There's a free gromet that you can use above the gas pedal. It can hold upto a 4 gauge wire but if it's just an alarm/remote starter wire, you will want to remove the gromet and drill out the appropriate sized hole.

ok one again I am asking questions because I am getting ready to install the starter combo tomorrow. You guys have answered all my questions so far and I thanks you for the big help. The questions I have today are....The keysense wire on the 06 civic. That gets connected to what? When I ground that wire it chimes like the key is in. I assumed that this gets connected to a bypass kit but the one I purchased from bypasskits says to connect the kit to the 3rd light green data wire on the the ignition harness. Any ideas?  Also the wire diagram from here shows the orange wire as acc1 and red as acc2. I tested the power and when I turn the key once only power showing up on red wire. Turn the second time and there is power on red and orange. Is that correct? Would that make the red acc1 and orange acc2? Ok 1 more........That MICU box....that is found on the back of the fuse box? It has two plugs on the back of the fuse/relay box.? What color is this box? I can't even see or reach back there! Is there an easier way to get back there? Can you unbolt the fuse box or something? I know this is more than 1 question but I know someone out there has the answers. Thanks in advance.

the wiring here i correct. the key sense wire does not need to be hooked up unless your bypass module needs it  i have never use the module you have so im not sure . the fuse box does unbolt for better accese to the MICU.

I have the CS-2016 DP FM from crimestopper. The bypass kit is the XK05-PKH4 and the wiring diagram for it is here https://www.bypasskit.com/Manuals/XK05_PKH4%20D20_I_EN.PDF

and just to confirm .....this means:

Tachometer NOT blk/wht, black or yel/blk  ac  any ignition coil or fuel injector

not those colors but any other color on the fuel injector or coil? Why wouldn't they just tell you the color to use instead of not to use?

1. Don't need the keysense wire for anything.

2. As far as the two accessory wires. If you would prefer that your radio remain off during remote start, don't power up the accessory wire that comes on in the radio position.

3. Injector/coil wires: The reason they list them that way is because the color you do want, is always a different color from one coil to another.

The wires they list are generally ground and ignition......those are the same for every injector...... the other wire, the one that pulses the injector (or coil) on and off, is always different, depending on which coil you decided to use.

4. Like it says, the MICU is part of the fusebox, but you shouldn't have to work around it too much anyway.

--The negative parking lights, and horn, are easily grabbed in the ignition harness when you make your ignition connections.

--Brake is somewhere in the front of the fusebox.....the part that is facing toward the driver's seat.

--The lock/unlock, and arm/disarm wires.......lay on your back, and look up....... with a good light source, you can clearly see the two harnesses that are coming in from the driver's door.......they're in there.

Just installed a trunk actuator in my 2006 civic. Now I wanna hook up my car starter so it pops my trunk. My starter supplies a 1/2 second negative pulse but I need a positive pulse. Now there is a relay in the box but it does not have a pin on 87. I am quite the newbie when it comes to relays. Can I use this one? I looked at a diagram that has every pin hooked up except 87a. Is there a different way to hook this up using the relay I already have? If not, what type of relay do I ask for in the auto parts dep? This is the diagram I was looking at but my relay does not look like this.

Is that the starter-kill relay that comes with the alarm?

Usually, the wire harness has no wire coming from the 87 terminal.......... but the relay will still have an 87.

Unplug the relay from the harness. Using a thin, pointy tool, extract the wire that goes to 87a.....you'll figure it out if you look closely with a good light......and re-insert the wire where 87 is.

Or, discard the harness altogether, get some scrap wire of different colors, and four female, crimp-on spade connectors, and wire it up yourself. That's how I usually do it.

Ok I looked in the book and it looks like it is a relay for the starter kill. I removed the relay harness and it doesn't have an 87 pin.

Forgot to mention that it says there is a hood pin too. There is no hood pin on a civic is there?

It's in the big long green plug above the fuse box, bottom row, 6th from the end.

The factory hood pin is in a harness going up the kick in GREY tape. It's light blue with silver dots. NEG(-)

Thanks Kartune...I'm gonna try that tomorrow. I didn't think there was a hood pin though because I didn't see a switch under the hood.

Ok I am getting really discouraged. I looked for both pins and cannot find them. First off there is 3 main plugs on the front of the fuse box. The top one is green. I looked at the botton, sixth plug from the end (right Side), it was blue with grey dots, tested it with a power tester with car running and all doors and trunk closed. It tested positive current. ?? As for the hood pin, there is a harness in grey tape that runs up along the fuse box in the front and a bigger harness that runs up in the back. Which one is it? It is also located at the hood latch cause I don't see a pin or wire under the hood. since there are so many wires the same color....How do I test it? The other door pins I just tested with a regular power tester connected to ground with the car running and when I found the right one the door ajar light came up on the dash. I know I am being a pain but I am right in the middle of the install and this is all that I am missing. Thanks again!

hook onto it with you multimeter and pop the hood, it should instantly go to ground. doo the same with the trunk.
