I have a 2005 ford taurus in the shop with a pro-start 2-way remote start.  All seems to work fine when the conditions are warm, but as soon as the temperature drops the unit starts to fail.  It will come back as not starting b/c the vehicle did not crank.  Yet when the car has sat in the shop and warmed up,  all is fine.  Any ideas?

Load test the vehicle battery. Had a similar problem, although on an 03, the vehicle battery was bad. Also, if you used a key in the box bypass check the location of the ring, they are more sensitive in the cold.

Don't just check the antenna wire, also check to make sure the key in the box is not loose....make sure it is in place and not moving around.

Here's some stuff to check and to re-wire:

- If you have a alternator sensing feature use this instead on the newer vehicles.
- if you used a key requried bypass, try using a keyless version for this vehicle. ADS-TB, PKF3 or KEY-OVERRIDE SL.

More than likely if the THEFT light is flashing it's the PATS system kicking in and stopping the vehicle from starting. If the vehicle starts and runs for 2-3 seconds or over cranks then it's a tach issue.
