So,has anyone ever done one of these? Ive searched the forums and havent found any answers. My buddy wants to tackle this job on his car and I would like to help him out...any tips please? I have the directechs, the only thing I dont get is how are you suppose to get a starter wire, it lists one but says dont use?! I know one of you guys has to have done this...

If you have a digital meter test the wires at the key cylinder the starter wire should be there.I have not done one yet but your best bet is at the key cylinder. Once you test it with your meter the wire will not have voltage when you put your key in the cylinder and crank the car to start it the meter should have voltage for a second and the voltage drops to zero again. that's how you find the starter wire.good luck.

Can anyone verify those wires? Those are WAY different than what ive got;
DIRECTWIRE™ WIRING INFORMATION - SAAB / 9-3 / 2003 / Remote Start
12volts RED / white + ignition harness
Starter brn/wht (NOT for remote start) - ECM, driver side connector, pin 58
Ignition RED / blue + ignition harness
Accessory blue + ignition harness
Keysense brown + ignition harness
Power Lock green - central lock switch in driver door
Notes: Lock and unlock are negative trigger thru resistors. The resistor values are not know at this time. Cut the wire and meter the switch side while pressing the central lock switch on the door.
Parking Lights- BROWN / yellow - headlight switch or BCM, pin A29
Notes: The BCM is part of the fuse box under the driver side dash.
Door Trigger see notes - each door harness or BCM
Notes: The LF door is green to gray in pin A12. The RF door is green to ORANGE / blue in pin A11. The LR door is purple to BROWN / orange in pin A10. The RR door is purple to white in pin A9. Use all four wires and diode isolate each.
Dome Supervision blue/white - driver kick or BCM, pin A18
Notes: The BCM is part of the fuse box under the driver side dash.

lsondubz, the info you have should be correct. You dont need the starter wire for remote start. Just dont connect it. Make sure you connect all the other ignition wires though. The only reason you would need the start wire on this car for would be to do a starter kill.

So how does the car crank? Will it automatically crank when there is no voltage on acc but voltage on ign?
