Installing starter in a 95 ram pickup. I checked out the reverse polarity diagram on the site and just wanted to know if I have to do the same on both doors? So I would need 4 relays all together right?

I don't get it then. I just have to do this on the driver's side and it will take care of the passenger side?

ok followed the instructions on wiring up the relays from the reverse polarity diagram here. I click on unlock from the remote and I hear the relay click on anf off but the door lock does nothing. same thing for unlock. So I got to thinking maybe the lock/unlock switch from the vehicle needed to be plugged in. Did that and pushed the lock on the remote and it blew the fuse for the locking system in the vehicle. I don't understand. Please need some advice. Using ProStart CT3310 R/S.

can you explain how you set up your relay? Cause th clicking is the relay being tripped.

You might not  have your wires hooked up right

two relays one for lock and one for unlock

86 12v fused

8712v fused

87a orange purple switch side

30 motor side

85 lock  (-) from r/s

The vehicle did not come with factory keyless entry. I took off the door panel and after the switch I cut the wires for lock and unlock then hooked up the relays as described. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I'm using the constant from the switch too.

I assume you tested the wire to confirm its reverse polarity.

Hmmmm try using a different power source.

If not have you tried using looking for the ORANGE / Purple in the drivers kicks. It will be in a 10 pin connector  Unlock  is pink/purple.

Ok I tried again tonight. I found the wire in the kick and tried it from there and the same result. There is a post in here from some guy that had the same problem exactly but it ended with no resolution. When I hook #87 and #85 or #86 and #87  to 12 volts contant the #87a shows 12 volts constant. As soon as I connect the switch side wire it blows the fuse. I tried hooking everything up without hooking up the factory switch and when I touch negative to #85 at the same time I also tested the ORANGE / purple wire right at the lock and it showed the 12volts but nothing happened! I have no idea what do do at this point. please help.

Ok....So after not getting a response I went down to a shop here that installs r/s. They said I had the wrong relays. After all that! I was using 30amp auto relays which it shows in the diagram here. I had no idea there are 2 different types. 1 shows hot on 87a and 1 doesn't. Hooked them up and I was on my way!
