I am will be working on a 04 HUmmer H2 and this is a first for me. I have been reviewing the wire diagram from directechs and it seams simple enough, but it says to hook up the keysense. I have never hooked one up so any help would be appreciated. Oh yeah I am installing a alarm and remote start on the truck. Also I will be using the dei 457gw with it, has anyone had problems with these units? Will the unit work the locks and turn off the factory alarm? What about door trigger does it pick that up as well.
I am not familiar with the dei peice you mentioned. I use xpresskit's XK01 on that vehicle, and it does provide a door trigger output. As far as the keysense is concerned, you shouldn't need it, since the module will disarm the alarm before start. If it turns out that you do need it, just tag your ground while running output to it and you are done. Be sure to diode isolate the GWR input to your module and the keysense wire from eachother to prevent back feeding.

the keysense wire will show a neg or pos as soon as you put the key in the ignition(dont have to turn it).....generally its a neg, not sure on that veh. As for the bypass, if its the databus bypass, it should control door locks, fact. disarm, domelight, parklight, and door trigger. Im not completely sure about that model, because i haven't used dei in a while...the manual in the module should tell u all the features for that vehicle
that 457gw will do lock/unlock trunk release (if available) factory arm and disarm panic and some other crap. it will give you a negative door pin but you have to use the connect the option 2 wire to the cars dome supervision wire in order for the door trigger to work. read the manual twice about that option 2 stuff cause i almost missed it the first time i used one and without it the green door trigger wire on the 457 wont output.. even still its pretty simple most of your wires from the alarm brain will just get connected to the 457 and you just connect your data wire at the end of the install.
Yeah no need for keysense and cut the underdash panel behind the radio bezel so you don't have to take anything apart.
