I have a poser for anyone familiar with these alarms. I have installed almost 40 of these in the past 3 years, and have never had this problem, thus I think it might be a warranty issue. Here is the problem; I installed this unit saturday, and all of my connections are correct, and soldered. The unit worked perfect on 5 start attempts for testing, everything worked great untill I tried to adjust the shock sensor. With this unit, you have to depress the lock and unlock buttons for 3 seconds. the siren chirps, the park lights flash 3 times and then stay on. then you strike the a pillar with the palm of your hand 3 times to set. the alarm chirps each time it detects the impact. well when I depressed the 2 buttons, nothing happened. So I tried again still nothing, but the doors locked and the alarm armed. then the alarm would not recognize the remotes any more. I couldnt unlock with the remotes. as soon as I unlocked with the key and opened the door the alarm sounded. I ended up having to disconnect the siren while I tried to reprogram the remotes. after a while the alarm would go through the remote reprogram mode but would not recognize the remotes! I am at a loss. Anyone else ever have this problem? ------------- jmacf14

what i would do is unplug then replug in the brain, do this with the antenna too. to program the remotes turn the ignition on-off,on-off,on then press the antenna button 1 time then hold til the horn honks 5 times while holding the antenna button press lock on the 1st remote, then press lock on the 2nd remote release the antenna button. it will beep when u push the lock button on each remote telling u it is programed. to me it sounds like u have a bad antenna connection, pinched antenna wire or bad antenna...

Thanks for the reply. I tried disconnecting everything and reconnecting. Like I said though every thing was working great then out of the blue, nothing but alarm sounding. No response to remotes. The leds in the antennae are working and I can get the alarm to go through the sequence to learn the remotes, it just doesnt respond to them, not even to relearn them. I am open to more suggestions, and thanks again for the reply.

I have done a bunch of the manual units and i have never ran into the problem you are describing. It sounds like a bad module to me. Try swapping and let me know cause I have had a very small handful of units (auto trans mostly) that were bad out of box, though not the same symptoms.

I haven't seen the troubles you describe,we did have one that would remote start whenever it wanted. I would try swapping out the brain also and see how she goes, also double check all connnections and make sure you have a good body ground for the remote start.

Well I ended up replacing the brain and that fixed the problem. All is well now. Must be a fluke. Something definately went wrong in that one. Thanks for the replys guys.
