555F problems in cold weather

We've had a pretty weird winter out here in the pacific northwest and temperatures lately have been in the 20's during the night. When I go to start up my truck it'll crank just fine but won't start up, much the same as it did when I was just beginning to install my DEI 555F bypass. I've read that these bypasses can be flaky at times. Is there a way to fix this or do I just need to invest in a different bypass that will always work and if so which one? Thanks

did u go tachless or used a tach wire if you went tachless hook up the tach wire it works better in cold weather

I have the tach wire already hooked up, I thought that was a required part of the installation anyways

First, observe the red flashing security light.

You didn't mention what type of truck you have, but it's either a red LED on top of the dashboard, or inside the instrument cluster, a little picture of a car, or the word "THEFT."

In any event, it should flash slowly with the truck off. When you turn the ignition on, it should come on solid for a couple of seconds, and then go out.

If, when you turn the ignition on, the light is instead flashing rapidly, the truck isn't seeing the transponder.

Next time it is cold enough for the remote start to fail, go outside, sit in the truck, and attempt to remote start it. Take notice of what the light is doing, and post your results here.

No point in messing with that 555F just yet, until you verify it's the problem.
