just got done installing a starter on a 07 santa fe' i noticed under the dash there is a module with a little ruberized antenna on it, anyone know wth it is? just checked their site and perhaps it is there homelink transceiver? https://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/santafe/interior/interior.aspx

anyway, after i got done it doesnt have very good range, and im wondering if whatever that module is could be the culprit and if anyone knew for sure what that module is under the dash.

what kind of starter....older prestige starters have problems with interference sometimes.

its a newer 687, customer came back, and of course it worked flawlessly everytime for me, so just to take precaution i relocated the antenna on the windshield and relocated the brain under the dash to get it away from the factory fuse box and whatever that module is next to the fuse box with a little rubber looking antenna on it. Customer still complains that SOMETIMES the unit will not respond to the remote, no doorlocks,no starter, (unit wont even flash lights supposedly) i also installed a cl-100 satellite pager and that has been working 100% of the time, so this seems like more of a transmitter/interference problem as opposed to a faulty brain/bad ground/power etc.. fyi, they say that when this happens, the remote will not even work when you are standing right next to the vehicle.

Audiovox has had a recent issue with their antennas. There's a technical bulletin with details, but I don't have it here next to me.

Basically, look through your inventory. Looking at the white plug for the antenna, if it has a little black permanent marker on the edge, it's been fixed.

Replace your customer's antenna with one that has the mark on it.

You can also take the customer's antenna apart, and remove one of the resistors on the board. But without the picture (and I have no way to show you the picture that I have), you're not going to be able to know which resistor.

I dont think is a homelink tranceiver since the one for the Santa Fe is incorporated into the inside of the rearview mirror.

I will say that module with the ruberized antena is a receiver for the factory keyless entry remotes.
