Hi,

I have a 2004 Camry V6 XLE with transponder keys.  I am putting in a viper alarm with a remote start but I need an addtional key.  Toyota quoted me $200 after tax which I am not paying. I know I can get it for about half the price at a lock smith but I really don't want to trust a locksmith with my transponder code. I know these keys transmit a signal so is there any way to catch this signal with another device? It doesnt need to be a key just something that can reproduce the same signal as a factory key. Thanks.

Thanks thats exactly what I am looking for! Where can I get this online for the cheapest price, im having trouble finding it.

I have a question though, how is this compared to a regular key in dash setup? Does the key in dash have any advantages? Thanks

Yea, it's easier! Fine if you have a key to spare, if not go the other route. FYI, around here we have a mobile company called Hightech Locksmiths. They will program a new key for 65 bucks. You may have the same in your area...

Id rather not have a key in the dash.  How about this pkt2 https://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/product.php?productid=6181   it looks different than the one on bypasskit.com

I have a brand new one for sale (XK05 PKT2) New In Packaging if your interested, I bought it for my grandparent's car. I just took it out of the packaging to look at it, and that's it! It's an 06 Camry, and was almost positive it had a transponder, but on the 4 cylinder 2.4L it's an optional feature. Let me know if your interested, $50 shipped takes it. I also posted this in the Buy/Sell Forum on here.

This is the "Xpress Kit 05", it is listed on bypasskit.com's website. The primary difference is that XK05 is flash upgradeable whereas the PKT2 is not. This would work fine.

I installed the pkt2 today but its not working correctly. I connected all the wires right but when I applied the 12v constant to the pkt2 the car will not start, it will crank but not turnover but when I turn it off(remove red wire) it starts fine. When plugged in the red light is on all the time. The only wire I didnt connect was the green wire to the stock securtiy light(I couldnt find the wire). Did I miss something?

The above problem went away but I have new problem with the remote start on this car. When I remote start the parking lights blink for like 2 seconds but the ignition doesnt get power nor does is crank. After the 2 seconds the remote just makes the sound when the remote start is deactivated, I checked the shutdown diganositcs but the led doesnt blink after I do the sequence to see why the remote start failed. By the way its a Viper 5900, Ive put this alarm in other cars without out a problem but I can't figure this one out.

Check the hood pin, or the toggle switch, make sure he brake wire isn't seen 12v for whatever reason....

yeah I checked the brake wire thats fine but I noticed something funny, with the alarm armed and I put the key in the ignition the alarm goes off as soon as the key is inserted and the remote says the hood was opened.  I have it wired so the r/s status wire gives a ground to the keysense(diode isolated) and also to the pkt2 bypass.

The hood pin thing was the problem. Why does the stock hoodpin get triggered when a key is put in the ignition?  And why doesnt the gauges moves when its remote started?
