I installed an audiovox 9778 and an XK01 into a 2006 buick raineer

two days later it came back for inop remote start. everything else worked fine. all alarm functions as well as the keyless entry.

I unplugged the xk01 and then plugged it back in and it worked jsut fine. two days later he called me back and it stopped working again. He is due to come back today and I was wondering if any of you have had a similiar issue.

I installed it with the D2D cable since audiovox has built in support for it... I have only done a couple like this but none of them have had a problem with it

I have hundreds of trailblazers/raineers on the road with no problems. Oh and to boot this is the owners neighbor! he is of course kicking and screaming

have you tried to reflash it with the newest software and then wire it W2W?

I've heard from my distributor that audiovox is having problems with the D2D connections, so that very well may be your problem. obviously audiovox isnt going to admit it if you talk to them, but you may want to elimanate the problem and ditch the D2D connection and wire it up normally and see what happens

I have not heard that but It sounds very believeable. I never call tech assist. If I hear then say "check your gound" one more time I will kill them.  Does dei still say that all the time? been 5 years since I called them .

audiovox's tech support it actually pretty good, its been about 10 years since ive dealt with DEI's tech support

supposedly they are also having problems with transmitter range/reception on some of the new 687 units, which i have experienced where the remote start/keyless will be working fine, and then every so often it just wont respond to lock/unlock/start etc..

if all else fails, call flashlogic, they have very good tech support as well 1-877-212-8058

Try one of the other bypass modules for that vehicle and use the standard wiring for it instead. This will eliminate the bypass module as your problem. If problems comes back with again with the other module installed, then you know it's the CPU and not the module.

I don't happen to use a lot of the XK01,

But I do use several XK07s per week, on Infinitis, with the PKN3 firmware.

As soon as the Audiovox "AVX" modules came out with the D2D cable, we switched over to those from the Trilogix-branded pieces.

Anyway, the first few cars came back........turns out that there was some sort of conflict between the Audiovox remote start, the databus bypass module, and the D2D cable.

We reflashed the modules with the latest firmware, and all was well after that. But I was also told that if I were to manuall hardwire the modules, that would have fixed it as well.

I would call not only Audiovox tech support, but Trilogix tech support as well.

There's one tech support guy at Trilogix who seems to ALWAYS know what little bugs and flaws these things might have. He doesn't go around making stuff up; just tells you what the trouble is and how to fix it.

That's Mike, he's been there a while and he knows his stuff. If possible, ask for Mike.

I think he prefers to be called Michael, at least when I talked to him.......but yeah, that guy's awesome.

He's never told me to "check my grounds," or any of that other nonsense. Just straight answers, along with a resolution to the problem.
