I have a 92 Bonniville with a audiovox remote start, when I hit the trunk release button twice to start it, it turns over and starts for about a second then shuts off, I just got the car with the system installed already, and trying to figure out whats wrong, any suggestions???

Two quick things to look for first:

1. Does your ignition key have the little black resistor pellet in the middle of the metal key shaft? If so, the car has GM's VATS anti-theft system.

Anyway, if the car has VATS, there will be a light in the dashboard that says "SECURITY." When you try to remote start, is the light on steady, or flashing?

2. The tachometer wire under the hood can easily get knocked loose, either due to age, or inept mechanics. If you can see any aftermarket wires out under the hood, connected to wiring on top of the engine, check to see that the connection is good, and that the wire hasn't been broken.

thanks ...I check those things out, and let you know what it was, it does have the GM VATS anti-theft , but the guy said the remote start was working, so it must be one of the other things
