I put a Pursuit PRO 9056 with xk06(pkg7) interface on this vehicle a month ago.  Car came back with complaint the car wouldn't shut off with the key off and out of the ignition. (I work at a dealer)  GM techs found code, traced back to RS, say car is fine (no codes) with RS disconnected.  (I have no details from customer, but can get some if needed)  I reconnected the RS, and tested with the scantool.  When started with the key, I get no codes.  With the RS, I get the code (B1380 Device Ignition ACCESSORY Circuit Open) only after the car runs for 10 seconds.  The fault must be present for 10 sec to set a code, so I know the fault is happening the whole time the RS is running the car.  I get the code, but no symptoms!  RS works every time, and so does the key.

My 1st question is- When the RS is shut down, by transmitter or brake, the RS unit clicks off and the vehicle headlights come on(car stays running).  After about 3-4 seconds, the bypasskit(xk06) clicks off and the car shuts off.       Is this normal for these cars?        I've tried new parts, no change.

Also, is it normal for a RS unit to throw "soft codes" when operated?  I get the code everytime, but no dash lights or symptoms.

No, it's not "normal".  But on the new Chevys if the WHITE/ white-black wires at the ignition don't see the correct resistance(s) at the correct time, the vehicle will store the soft codes.  If the RS install is done INCORRECTLY that is.

Well, I did some more digging.  I forgot that when I put the RS back on the Malibu,  I left a wire disconnected for testing purposes.  I originally hooked up the ACC output from the RS to the brown ACC wire at the ignition switch, because that is how I have always done this platform. (I used to use a different interface module)

The xk06 says you don't need to hook up the ACC wire, and since the GM tech said the problem was with the brown acc wire, I decided to leave it disconnected.  The RS functions the same either way.

I hooked up the ACC wire again, and retested.       No Codes!

And audiovox techline said that the Malibu will run for a while (3-4sec) after shutdown(brake, transmitter).  That is supposedly normal.

So of course, the install is all back to original, and the RS is working normal, and setting no codes.  And the car works fine with the key as well.  Now- what to do, what to do?
