I bought an 06 300c from a dealer and declined to pay 599 for the alarm they installed in the car.
The salesman swapped out a blinking led module for a module with no leds on the driver kick panel when I said I don't want it. I'm curious as to which alarm system this is and how to re-activate it (obviously with the swap of the module in the first picture below) This system allowed the salesmen at the dealer to use a single FOB to open all the cars.
Look familiar to anyone?

I opted not to pay for this one with my recent car purchase. My car has the RKE and factory alarm that only activates if a door is opened when armed. This unit is installed on all cars on the dealers lot to get a cheaper insurance rate so I'm told. The led not shown is housed in a square module that has the valet switch integrated into the module. This module had a cover snapped on when I took possession of the car because I did not pay for the alarm (alarm company provides for a new car if the car is stolen and not recovered in 30 days) That's the line the dealer pushed. I told them my auto insurance covers the gap if the car is not returned. An interesting feature of the integrated valet/led is that the snap on cover that blocks the led and the button is the cover has a 2 pin connector. Disassembly of the cover revealed a very tiny PCB with 2 resistors on it that I'll assume provides the brain with a given resistance value to enable/disable certain features.. I could be wrong here.. making an educated guess.
The brain has a sensitivity pot and was tie wrapped uner the steering column. So .. here are the pics, I'm looking for a confirmation that this is the dubious "Karr" alarm and I'd like to know what model this is. In reading I've learned there's the Karr 2020a and 4040a. Both have been reported to have less than 24 pins, so I could be totally off base here. The larger 2 pin connector is what the internal relays (2) are connected to, and externally those wires attach to the ignition wire.
Here's the LED/VALET switch with the "customer did not pay" cover snapped on.
Anyone????

those are just dealer ones so one fob can open any car, don't worrie about it. if you want a alarm just buy a new one, the amount you will pay for 2 remotes you can almost get a new system.
Yep, one of many different possibilities in the "dealer ones". My inquiry has nothing to do with features, pricing, performance, etc., I am merely hoping that someone would look at the pics, and identify the brand and model. Thanks for looking.
