Anyone have any experience with the Motorola Pro-Install car kit for the V60 series of phones?
Just installed one in my car, & I have 2 V60 phones. One provided by work, one personal. The work phone works fine, mic, speaker, etc. My phone has issues. If I put the phone into the cradle, it does not recognize the car kit, but if I remove the phone from the cradle & remove the cable from the cradle & plug it directly into the ohone, everything works fine. The cradle appears to be a straight pass thru, I'll play with an ohmmeter tonight & see if there's any issues there.

Any ideas?
thanks!

sounds like you have a bad solder joint on the jack in your phone.  especially since you have two phones..one works..one does not.

as far as the cord thing goes, try flexing the cord up and down while it is plugged directly into the phone.  you will probably find it is intermittant.

good luck.

I installed two such kits in my previous car, one of which is the very same one you have, for the V60. If it works straight with the cable but not when on the cradle, it looks like the cradle has some contacts not clean or not coming all the way out. There are about 15 contacts and three small contacts(for power). If any of the 15 contacts are't making a good contact either due to a tight pin or unclean pin, this will happen. Are the two phone exactly the same? meaning both V60t or V60i or something? Just check if the oen that does not work have any oxidation marks on the contacts. Since it works directly, your kit seems to be ok, just the contacts are not all touching properly. If you shake it like catdoogan says, then it will be confirmed but be careful while shaking as you might loosen something you shuldnt be.   Let us know your results!

I've wiggled & wiggled, the TDMA version of the V60i works fine, the CDMA V60i doesn't
I've come to accept it.
I have a couple of friends that have the same phone, waiting to run into them & try their phones in the cradle & see what happens.
I'm thinking its time for a new phone, I might need a new snazzy camera phone!

Thanks for the help!
