i installed new gauge faces this weekend and now my tach needle won't move!  i was very careful when moving the needles to slide the new gauges over them.  has anyone ever fixed guages before? can anyone give me pointers on how to troubleshoot the problem? should i give up and start looking for gauge clusters at a junkyard? help!

What vehicle did you do this in. The needle for all the gauges as you noticed are very fragile and thin. You might have damaged the needle or bent it slightly and it is hanging up on the new gauges from the backside. Only way to test is to remove the gauge on the RPM pod and test it it works without the new face. If it still does not, you will need a new gauge.
