Hi, I have recently installed a remote start in my honda accord 2005, everything works well.  I wanted to add a relay so that the wipers would not work while the engine is remotely started.  Can any one help.  Not sure what kind of relay NC or NO i would need and how to wire it correctly.thanks

I know when I have done newer hondas the wipers do not come on...... I do not think that they are supposed to come on.  Sounds like you may have hooked your acc to the wiper power.  I would re-check your connections.

Thanks, I got a little confused.  The remote start is on my 2006 crv, and not the Accord.  With the acord everything is find, but with the CRV, wipers still come on when remote start. I checked all connectivity and it was done correctly as per wiring diagram that was supplied.

Thanks for the relay info.

unless CRV's are different in Cambodia(they may be)  then there is still something hooked up to the wiper circuit which should not be hooked up.(probably an ACC or Ign wire from the starter)

the reason why I say this is that all a remote starter does is mimick the same functions in the car as it would if the key were in the ign. this being said if everything is correct that you hooked up then what you are telling us is that whenever you have the car on with the key the wipers are on all the time.  if this is the case then it is ok.  but i highly doubt that the wipers are on whenever the car is turned on with the key, therefore something is still wrong with you remote start wiring.

i think he means that if he accidentatly leaves the switch on then they can come on. I know I have done it a few times myself, and if it were to happen when there was a lot of snow on the windshield, then it could burn out the motor. If it is as perly said, and they automatically come one regardless of the switch then something is definately hooked up incorrectly.

Let me restate properly, the wipers will go on only when the switch is on.  That is if the car is remotely startered with the switch off, the wipers do not go on, but if remote started with wipers switch on, the wipers will go on.  Therefore during major snow-storms, it may burn the wipers if I accidently forget to turn off the wipers.  So my best bet would be with the relay.  Would anyone know the wiper motor wire color for relay connection for a CRV 2006.  Thanks
