I have 12v AC landscape lighting and I want to be able to use a relay to open and close a portion of the circuit.

I bought this, a Logisys 12vdc remote control relay (https://www.amazon.com/LOGISYS-RM02-relay-remote-control/dp/B000PI9E4K). I assume the DC relay won't work with the supplied 12VAC, is it possible to rectify the signal going to the coil contractor so it will work?

Thanks.

12V AC thru a bridge rectifier to filter cap should give ~15V to 16V DC. Then a dc-dc converter or 7812 to provide 12V DC.

BUT I think you have the wrong unit if the receiver's output is its input supply.
You want the receiver (relay) to switch a supply that is independent of it's own 12V DC. (Maybe the RM02M?)
That could be done by having the RM02 turn on another relay, or you might be able to modify the receiver and disconnect the relay's #30 (or #87) input for connection to your 12VAC.
