Hi all, just signed up for a project I am working on.
seems like alot of experienced people here. Im a mechanical engineer so forgive me as i try my best to put my electricians hat on.
Looking for a normally open timer relay that will short a 18v, 20 amp circuit 2-6 seconds after receiving a 12v signal.
I came across the popular 528t relay. will this work? and if not what other options do I have?
Fyi this is for a slow starting of a dc motor that is to start with high resistor at first to prevent over torque and slip, then once it gets moving the timer relay is to short the resistor out so the motor can go full speed after the slow start.

528t will work fine in this application.

I might be wrong but there are also OEM relays for automotive AC with a 3 second delay built in.
