Hey everyone- im trying to install power door locks in my 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer. I got the poppers out of a donor blazer and i picked up a stock relay from a local auto parts store. The relay i have is a potter an brumfield 12v relay with 6 terminals labeled A B C D E F, however im unsure of how the wires need to be connected to the terminals. Thanks if anyone can help

The relay doesn't have the standard markings like 85, 86, 87a, 87 ?? If not, and the relay didn't come with a pinout, you will need to use a multimeter to find which two pins are the coil, then the COM and the N/C, N/O. You may want to look at the relay diagrams on this website for finding the configuration you need for power door locks.

Thinkster, No- the relay doesnt have the standard markings. If you send me an email address, i can upload you and image of the diagram drawn on the relay. maybe you could interpret that for me. For some reason, the image will not upload onto this website.

Thanks!

Brian,

is a link that has some interesting pictures and a good explanation of what the relay does and how the pinouts are labeled. It will also give you some idea of what pinouts are what and will give you some ideas of how to use these incredibly versatile tools.

Well - I said screw the GM relay and bought 2 5 terminal relays with the standard 85,86,87,87a, and 30 markings. However I am having trouble finding a diagram to wire my locks by and i am not wiring them to an alarm Would this one work? If not, what is the correct wiring?

That diagram shows exactly the same thing my alarm system documentation does. Just make sure to stick a 20 amp fuse on the 12+ feed.

You mentioned that you got the " popper " from a donor vehicle. Does this mean they are the aftermarket actuators or are they factory motors ? If they are aftermarket actuators you can use the diagram above but if they are OEM motors, you need to wire up the system differently. Post your response.

The door lock actuators, i should say, came out of another blazer so they are OEM parts. Help If you can! Thanks
