Hi guys,

Can anyone help me with a 12Vdc relay circuit or point me in the right direction on where to find one that will open a lid when the ignition is turned on & then close it when turned off. The circuit needs to drive a small 12Vdc motor in both directions to a limit switch at the top & bottom limits.
I've searched the net quite a bit but haven't been able to come up with anything yet :(
Any help for a noob would be much appreciated. Thanks

Use 2 x DEI 528t timer relays, make open controller POS trigger, make close NEG trigger and run both off the ignition.
I'll try and dig out a mirror fold diagram but it's the same idea.

Thanks for the reply, I'd be really grateful if you could find that diagram. In the mean time I'll be reading up on those timer relays. Would I still need to use the limit switches or simply adjust the timer to open & close to the high & low limits?

Just done the diagram, timed_open,_closed.png
Time the opening and closing times then add 1 second by adjusting the times via each 528t. The top 528 is open, lower close.
Thus limit switches not required.
If lid demands a 10 amp fuse, make the power supply 15 amps, the 528t is good for 20 amps.
This will be automatic on ignition on or off.
All colours are true except your ignition wire.
