I'm going to put a video player into my 2003 Yukon Denali XL in conjunction with my flip down screen.
One of the problems was to switch the power so it doesn't get left on. The 2nd row seats have seat warmers with buttons on the back of the center console which would be an ideal place to turn on the circuit. They would turn off when the car turns off which is ideal.
I'm thinking this would be a fairly high amperage circuit for the seat warmer and I would disconnect it from the seat and just use it to control the video player. Does this sound like a good idea?

Why not run an accessory wire from the fuse box or ign harness, It will then only work when the vehicle is in the accessory or running position. It will also work with the RAP circuit.

I was looking to avoid "running" anything. I did find the accy outputs under my dash but luckily found a switched power that had already been run by a previous VCR installation that is no longer used. It was under the other 2nd row seat. I pulled that across and used it.
I investigated the seat warmer and found many more wires than I expected. It's a much more complicated circuit than just switch & power as I think it senses whether the seat is connected before it will allow you to turn on the power. Based on all of that I abondoned the idea and went with the existing switched circuit.
Finished up the install and all works well.
