Pin 2 - neg

Unlocking -

I could assume each lead is resting at ground, though it's possible they both rest open, or even at positive, and it's never safe to assume, so what year, make, and model vehicle do you have?

2006 Audi A3 taking the feed from the filler door lock will check what they rest at

Should rest at open circuit, ground to lock/unlock, lock pin 2, unlock pin 1. Use a 1N4004 diode in line, band towards your unit.
Alternative, this maybe a 1 wire multiplex operation, not sure myself because I always used a DB-all 2 if you're going your route use a DEI 451 comes with resistors and should plug into your alarm assuming you're using a DEI product.

Forget the filler cap BTW lock control on that vehicle, UK spec is at the near (left) hand hatch area just inside the rear light fitting, much easier to use3 a DB-ALL2, it will save you hours of wiring and probing on that vehicle.
