engine/radiator cooling fan will run when a/c is turned on, but will not come on through engine temperature. will overheat @idle.

Could be the realy, its in the underhood fuse box. Switch it with the horn relay to see if that is really the problem, I kinda doubt it since the fan turns on with the A/C. I've owned several Saturns and they normally run a little hot. The gauge goes past the 3/4 mark before the fan turns on. You can wire in your own switch and turn it on when you want. Thats what I did. I located the 12+ wire on the fan wire harness near the fan motor, wired in a relay and a switch into the car. Worked great, especially in the summer and when I would drive to Vegas.
