Hey, i got a starter disable relay for my american thunder impulse car alarm and i dont know how to install it... there 4 wires comming off one end of it, one goes to the alarm, and i dont know what the others are for. there is a big prong type thing on the other end with a hole in it. might just be for mounting.... any help would be nice thx

fyi: installing in a 1980 chevy blazer(fullsize)

On the side of the starter kill relay socket with the wires coming out, you should see markings as such: 86, 85, 30, 87, and 87a in the middle. Two ways to wire it up, I'll tell you the easiest and the one I usually choose although a lot of people don't like it..... You will never have a problem... trust me... OK

I'm assuming one wire is orange coming out of 85 or 86. This wire is your trigger or activation for the relay. If you're hooking it to an alarm it goes to the (-) output when armed. Or you can run it to a switch that is grounded.

The other side of that wire you can put together with 87a and run this to the key side of your starter wire.... after you have cut it, of course. Key side meaning just that..... the wire closest to the key that reads 12v when in crank position. wire coming out of position 30 goes to other side of the starter wire.

The one wire that was left off needs to go to either ign or 12V constant. The ground when armed is probably the wire that is connected to the harness. The other two wires (larger gauge) are for the starter (which you have to cut) and does not matter which side of the wire goes to what on this setup.

the wire that needs to go to 12v is paired with the #30 thicker gauage wires.... Yes two wires into one. when you crank the ignition the paired wire gets charged activating the relay and not allowing the voltage through....
