you'll have to be more specific as to what a six pin relay is..... i've got several relays that have 6 pins..... some are more specialized than others -- if it's new, then you should know if it's a DPST or what.  if it's a DPST relay, and it's a NO (normally open) relay, then it's pretty simple - energize the coil, the magnetic field clamps the hindge down pulling along with it the electrical contacts for two switches, turning both of them on.  some DPST relays will have one side of the two switches tied together  (but those are 5 pin relays, so that's a different type).
