This is for the trunk release on a Dodge Caravan.

It is a positive wire coming from the switch, when you press the switch the power gets CUT OFF from this wire (its constant when the switch is not being depressed).

I've got a relay but I just got started with them can someone show me the diagram to wire this switch wire to the relay with a (-) pulse from remote start module.

Thanks
Kevin

Just wire terminal 87a and 30 inline with whatever wire your wanting to cut (kinda like a starter kill) wire your alarm output to 85 and 86 to constant...  BTW, I've never seen a release wired like that before, what did you use to test the switch and did you test both sides?

I used a lightmeter, the caravan is a 1992.

I put the lightmeter to one of the wires in the switch and grounded the other end. The lightmeter was constantly lit, but it went out when you pressed the button, is this the correct wire? Thanks for the help btw, is the 86 constant + or -

thanks

hi, you are looking for a light GREEN/ black wire in the drivers kick panel (rear body harness).  You must give this wire a positive pulse and it will pop the trunk,  should make things more idiot proof.
