Ok, I want to use relays to open and close my sunroof, factory module is damaged. My roof has 2 wires, revers polarity?, Ground one wire give the other 12v and the motor turns, ground the opposite wire and give 12v to the other and the otor goes the other way. Now can any one give me a diagram to wire up some relays? I have a switch that gives ground when pushed.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hey morgan.....

First off I think this might work, but don't hold me to it.......posted_image.....If I'm wrong, ooopsie.....if I'm right...wahoo!!!

Second, go here...https://https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#arp

Here's what you'd change....

alarm inputs = switch inputs....(yup, just hook your switch up to it....one side will be open one side cloase..blah blah blah....)

Door lock actuators = window motor  ( yup self explanatory....i hope)

Now you'll have to cut the motor wires, and wire them straight to the relays I think...note: I said I think...Been up all night (kids' sick), so me a lil outta it...

That should be the set up....it's like hooking up a power window....just without intergrating with a factory switch....this should work....if not....ooopsie...me sorryposted_image......

Now to everyone else...this sound right?!?!?!

Good luck bub and hoped this helps

I fixed it. Just so every one knows, those relays you get at the autoparts store mnade by blazer the are used for for lamps do not have a NO and a NC toggle. Pin 87 is connected to what I thought was 87a, Didnt bother to read it b/c the print is so small and I knew what they should have been. Ne ways thats why I kept blowing fuses, turns out I had it all correct. Dam* cheap a$$ relays that have to be a litle different and f-ed up.

For things like trunk pop, dome light, door locks....what's the right kind of relay....the SPDT?

As long as you dont neeed pin 87a it will b fine. I have used them in the past. In fact I swaped out both of them for other relays that where spdt.
