I have a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country AWD.  I am trying to hook up a commando keyless entry remote to the existing keyless entry.

Are the wires that I am connecting it to under the dash/kickspace or, in the door???

Help Me

Jeanne

they are in the driver kickpanel.  on the bcm there are 3 relays on the bottom left pull all 3 and tap pin 30 for a positve output to control your alarm.

Notes:
*1 Not required for remote start.  *2 Use relays and set up for negative trigger.  Place a 4020 ohm resistor inline on the lock output, and a 665 ohm resistor inline on the unlock output.  If you don't have a factory security system use a 1500 ohm for lock and a 250 ohm for unlock.   *3 The door lock motor wires are located in the top left plug at the relay/fuse box under the drivers side of the dash.   *4 If the van has "auto lamps", see direct fax document # 1080  *5 For dome light supervision, use BROWN / white at the dome light on/off switch on the dash.

o.k.  does this mean tap means that I need a resistor?

Yup ..... you will need two relays and proper resistor values to do the lock/unlock. Go here ( https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/install_notes/Converting_Outputs.jpg ) and use the " negative input---->negative output diagram with the proper resistor inline of pin 30. If you do not use a relay, you may run the risk that the RS unit that you have not supplying the unlock/lock wires with a solid enough ground. That means having to take everything down and doing it properly , with relays.
