Could anyone help me out with a question. I would like to know the easiest way of havIng 2 diff. relays trip the same device or group of devices. I'm installing interior led's, an underbody neon kit, and who know's what else. I am planning on using the dome switch (on/door/off) to operate all these lights. I also would like them tripped by the alarm. Also, is there such a thing as a double pole single throw relay? Thanks in advance

Chris

Hi Chris, here are two different ways to send power to a device:

If you have a negative trigger to use to trip a relay, connect it as follows:
#85 - to the negative lead to trip relay
#86 - to constant 12V+ (fused)
#87 - to constant 12V+ (fused)
#87a - Not Used
#30 - 12V+ output to device

If you have a positive trigger to use to trip a relay, connect it as follows:
#85 - to the positive lead to trip relay
#86 - to ground
#87 - to constant 12V+ (fused)
#87a - Not Used
#30 - 12V+ output to device

If you have two or more relays in either configuration, the outputs may be tied together to power the same device and triggered by separate devices.

Yes, you can get DPDT relays if space is a consideration otherwise you can use two Bosch style relays and wire the coils in parallel (Common Trigger, Isolated Outputs).    You might find 12V DPDT relays at Radio Shack, but they wont have the same kind of terminals like your probably used to and you will have to know what NC, NO, Common and Coil are.
