first of all i am located in mexico here we have lots of trouble with people that steals side mirrors so we install protectord for the mirrors i have a client who owns a 2003 silverado it has folding mirrors he wants to install some kind of protection with the alarm to prevent some one to steal his mirrors i located a micro switch that i installed so when the mirrors are fold it will sense this but the only switch that i could have installed there is a microwitch thas is normaly open so when the mirror folds it is closed but i havent been able to figure out how to include this on the installation i tried to conect this with a relay to the hood pin but if he does not fold the mirrors the alarm will sense the hood open and it would not self arm , also i tried to do a separate circuit to activate the horn of the car if the mirrors are fold out and whenit does this the horn will sound but the trouble with this is that i thougth of installing a switch so you will fold the mirrors then activate the switch and when the mirrors are fold out it will sound the horn but my client wants to get rid of the switch and so far i havent been able to figure out how to do this please help

You could hook a relay to reverse the polarity of the switch but, that would need power. He will have to settle with closing his mirrors before setting the alarm if he wants to do away with the switch. The other alternative is a second alarm for the mirrors.

the main trouble i have is that the switch is normally open so when the mirrors are fold in the switch activates and there is a complete circuit and when opens it opens the circuit

what do you think of this

this way (i think)the alarm should not sense any door or hood open so it should arm itself and when the mirrors are fold out it should see an intrusion and trigger the alarm however the mirrors are going to be folded evry time or use a switch to get them out of the circuit

i triede to up load a drawing of the relaybut i couldnt so i am going to try to describe it

the orange wire from the alarm the one that gives ground when armed would go to a switch and then to number 30 on the relay and to one side of the switch the other side of the switch to number 86 , 87 a would go to the door trigger or hood trigger , and number 85 would go to + 12v
