Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to wire an extra pusher fan for my AC system, now that I purchased an extra thick radiator. This is for a 94 Acura Integra.

I'd like for it to turn on w/ my regular AC fan. Can I just split it like a Y? The problem I see w/ this is that it decreases tha gauge of the wire and the fuse would likely not handle 2 fans.

I appreciate any advice given!

use a relay wired up so when the normal fan is triggered to turn on use that same signal to trigger your relay to turn on a separte circuit this way you will supply correct power to both fans. you a standard relay and connect it like this:

86-+ signal from wire that triggers the fan already in the car.

85- to GROUND

30- fused to 12 volts constant(go right to battery)

87- to one wire on your new fan(hook up so fan spins in the direction you want, you want the fan to pull air through the rad)

87a- Tape Off, you are not using this one!!

so you are gonna say now the fan has 2 wires, power from relay to one of em, and then ground the other. if it spinning the wrong way on the first try reversese your connections.

use a test light to make sure the positive trigger from the existing fan is in fact positive, if you grab the ground as a trigger this setup wont work, your new realy wont trigger. i hope this helps. i have done this in a civic in order to get the cooling fan and the a/c fan to turn on together and it works good.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you just split the (+) fan signal like a Y?

yes, for the relay to trip only requires less than 200 MA, which your current fan will not even be affected by losing this small amount of current.
