i have a 1990 nissan stanza and i was looking for a wiring diagram for my car on this site and it says on the coil there is a yellow and red wire, but i have one green and one black and red. which do i hook it up to?

Do you have an old fashioned test light, you know the ones with the actual light bulb inside?  If so and nobody else has any help for you by tonight, i will tell you how you can find the right wire.

Does the tach have the three wires?  I thought you were saying that the data here was wrong and you had those wires on your coil. 

If the wires are on the tach, Red = switched power.   Black = Ground    Green = to yellow/red of coil.

i have two wires on my coil. one is green and one is black with a red stripe. i have a red,green,white,and black on my tach. this stuff is slow, so if you get this and have a cell, text me. 228 218 5261. appreciate it.

Do you have a test light as described earlier??? Just to speed things up for you I will give you the procedure to find the correct wire without waiting for that answer. Start the vehicle, ground the ground wire of the test light. Now briefly touch the probe of the test light to one of the wires in question. Now briefly touch it to the other wire. Touching it to one of the wires should have made the car stall or idle funny. That is the tach wire. (Post Reply Speed Booster ACTIVATE)

i finally hooked my tach up. i just stripped a little bit off the top of my green wire on my coil and touch the tach's green to it and it worked. thanks for the advice though.
